Review Roost Glamping

Felt asleep on the first night listening to the sound of the raindrops on a warm Thai evening. Even though the weather was humid as it usually is in the country inside the tent we had the perfect breeze of air from our fan.

Checked in when was already dark outside so can’t wait to see what all this is about tomorrow morning!

We wake up with the morning light, no need for an alarm today and this feels refreshing. The glamping is awake and Roost Cafe is busy. Not doubting why, the food options are amazing! Off to our next adventure, we go out to explore Phuket before our second and last night at Roost. The property is close to a lot of tourist spots in Phuket such as the Big Buddha, Kata Noi Beach, Cape Phrom Thep…

During the evening while chilling by the pool we got to meet one of the owners (Jona) who told us a bit about the camp and we shared a few travel stories. Two friends from New Zealand made their dream come true in 2019 and created this special place in Phuket.

Before our last night we thought it would be a great experience to eat something in Roost Cafe while watching a movie because yes, they do multiple cinema nights a week and bonfire nights with marshmallows too! .

Food was delicious with Thai and international cuisine and lots of veggie options as well. Off to sleep we go trying to make the most of this unique accommodation experience. Tonight there is no rain but the sound of nature is also relaxing to fall asleep to

Already checked out and thanked the team at Roost for this experience. We have been traveling through the country for 3 weeks at this point and Roost has given us a connection to other guests that hotels cannot provide. The fact of sleeping in tents that are not soundproof and the common facilities shared in the glamping makes the experience feel a little bit homier.

During our Thailand trip we encountered people with bookings at Roost Glamping so what are you waiting for? If Phuket is on your Thailand itinerary we cannot recommend more a night or two at Roost Glamping.

Why Phuket’s Low Season Might Be the Best Time to Visit

When people think of a tropical getaway to Phuket, the high season—from November to April—usually gets all the attention. Perfect weather, blue skies, and calm seas is everything you could ask for. But here’s a little secret savvy travelers already know: Phuket’s low season (May to October) might just be the island’s best-kept secret.

Here’s why:

1. Fewer Crowds, More Space
One of the biggest perks of visiting during the low season is peace and quiet. With fewer tourists on the island, you’ll have more space to yourself—whether it’s lounging on the beach, exploring temples, or enjoying a sunset view at your favorite rooftop bar.

2. Better Deals Everywhere
Hotels, resorts, and glamping properties often slash their prices during the low season, so you can enjoy your favourite accommodation option for much less...

3. Lush Green Landscapes
The occasional tropical rain showers breathe life into Phuket’s natural beauty... Our gardens at Roost Glamping become noticeably more lush and tropical during the low season months.

4. Surf’s Up
Low season means waves on the west coast—and for surfers, this is great news...

5. A More Local Experience
With fewer international visitors, it’s easier to connect with Phuket’s culture and local communities...

6. Dramatic Skies and Romantic Rain
Yes, it rains—but usually not all day. The weather can change quickly... there’s something magical about watching a storm roll in while sipping a coconut by the sea.

Final Thoughts: Don’t Fear the Rain
Phuket’s low season offers a more relaxed, budget-friendly, and naturally stunning version of the island... If you don’t mind the chance of rain, this might just be the perfect time for your Thai island escape.

Tip: Pack a light rain jacket, waterproof shoes, and an open mind—because low season might just be your favorite season in Phuket.
